HGTV - Got call from Quicken Loans
I've been entering the HGTV sweepstakes for years and never got any sales calls from the sponsors. This morning at around 8 AM I got a call from John at Quicken, saying he was responding to my request to do a mortgage loan or refinance.
I tried to call the number back, but could not get to a simple customer service person. Then I got an email, telling me they were responding to my request for loan info. I called the number in the email and a nice lady said she'd remove my number from their call list. I never knowingly asked for Quicken Loan information.
We don't even have a mortgage. I hope HGTV does not do this again.
Reason of review: unsoliticed sales call.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
HGTV Pros: Some programming.
HGTV Cons: Binge programming.

I understand that by entering the contest I gave QuickenLoans the right to contact me, but I feel like it is bordering on harassment. I received 5 calls yesterday, and 4 today, not to mention I received calls last week as well. This is making me never want to use QuickenLoans for anything in the future.
Iโve been entering the sweepstakes for years and this is the first time Iโve had this issue. Very pissed!
They call and email saying Iโve requested information.
They call back to back NUMEROUS times a day. They called four times while I was with a client and it was embarrassing and made me look highly unprofessional.
Oh, and when I blocked their number they called back from a different one. Ugh.
Everytime I'm on the phone with someone they call in! VERY strange
Same thing has happened to me 3 days in a row now. I looked at the fine print and it does in fact say by entering the contest you allow Quicken loans access to contact you whether or not you give consent
Same thing happened to me, quite a few times, I thought well maybe I accidentally checked the box so the next time I paid attention that I never checked the box and still got a phone call. They said I could be opted out but I never opted in! I think HGTV should be notified of their sponsor taking advantage of entrants!
I received emails saying I requested information which I certainly did not. The first time I called QuickenLoans and they claimed that I did which was absolutely false. Since then I just trash the messages.
I just received the same phone call and called back. When I told them I never checked the Quicken loan box for a mortgage review they told me I had.
I was furious and told them I thought their method was unethical and inappropriate. I then told them I was reporting them to the BBB.
i just received the same phone call. I never thought HGTV would let them call like that.
Makes me not want to enter the sweepstake anymore.
I thought we were supposed to be surprised when we win! Why would you want to get a morgage before hand?
